The Lady Cougar Softball Team finished 3-0 in sectional play and walked away from Prairie Heights with their second overall Sectional Crown and their first since 2012. In Monday's quarterfinal game the Lady Cougars defeated the Westview Warriors 8-1. After a quick turnaround for the semi-final game on Tuesday the Cougars defeated a scrappy Churubusco team 7-4 to set up the Sectional Championship with defending sectional champ Eastside. The Lady Cougars were able to break into the scoring column in the 3rd inning and never looked back by shutting out the defending champions, claiming the title and posting their 23rd win of the season. Next up for the Lady Cougars is the Regional Championship which will be held at Central Noble on Tuesday, June 3rd (time TBD) versus either Woodlan or South Adams of Sectional #36. Both teams are ranked in the top 10 and have won 23 games or more. This should be a great night of softball and I hope we can pack the venue to show our support of the Lady Cougars as they continue on their quest to finish the season in Bittinger Stadium at Purdue University!
