What were you doing 50 years ago? Well that was the year the IHSAA started hosting a state tournament for girls tennis. In this year's edition, Central Noble will open up by facing the East Noble Knights on Tuesday, May 21st at 5:00 PM. The winner of this match will advance to the semi-finals where the DeKalb Lady Barons are waiting on May 22nd. Weather permitting the championship is scheduled for Saturday, May 24th at 10 AM. The championship will be against the winner of the Lakewood Park and West Noble semi-final match. How do you advance in the tennis tournament? This is a little different than some other sports. Obviously if your team wins every match you will be the sectional team champion but they also allow some individuals to advance from teams that are eliminated. Any undefeated singles player and any undefeated #1 doubles team can also advance. Best of luck to our Magnificent Lady Cougars as they take on the Beast of the East in round one!
