Central Noble honored its seniors Tuesday night before taking the field against Eastside, but the Cougars were unable to come away with a win, falling 6-2 in varsity baseball action. Eastside struck first in the top of the second inning when Andrew McClain delivered an RBI single to give the visitors an early 1-0 lead. Central Noble answered in the bottom half of the inning as Parker Boots ripped a single down the left field line to drive in the tying run and even the score at 1-1. The game remained close until the fifth inning when Eastside broke through offensively. Cole Omspacher delivered a two-run single, Chris Thompson added an RBI single, and a wild pitch brought home another run as Eastside extended its advantage to 5-1. Central Noble continued to battle throughout the evening and added another run later in the game, but the Cougars could not overcome the deficit. Parker Boots led the Cougars offensively with a strong 2-for-3 performance and drove in both Central Noble runs. Defensively, the Cougars played a clean game without committing an error, while Caden Douglas anchored the defense with a team-high eight putouts. Corbin Douglas took the mound for Central Noble and pitched six innings, striking out six batters while allowing five runs on seven hits. Wyatt Shull earned the win for Eastside after throwing a complete game, allowing just two runs while striking out 12. Eastside collected nine hits on the night, with Chris Thompson and Wyatt Shull each recording two hits. Thompson and Omspacher both finished with two RBIs to pace the Eastside offense. Despite the loss, the evening served as a special opportunity for Central Noble to recognize its senior players and celebrate their dedication and contributions to Cougar Baseball throughout their careers.
