Varsity Softball fall to Fairfield in the NECC Semi-Finals

By GameChanger Media Central Noble Varsity Cougars lost to Fairfield 7-3 on Thursday. Fairfield opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run. Central Noble Varsity Cougars captured the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third after Fairfield committed an error, and Chloe Adams singled up the middle, each scoring one run. Fairfield took the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the third thanks to singles by Madison Jones, L Yoder, and Jayna Copen. Jones earned the win for Fairfield. The hurler surrendered five hits and three runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking seven. Grace Swank took the loss for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. The starter went six innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out 11 and walking three. Adams led Central Noble Varsity Cougars with one run batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Swank and Molly Mann each collected two hits for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. Central Noble Varsity Cougars had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Swank and Katie Forker led the team with two bases on balls each. J Fought, A Ross, and Copen each collected two hits for Fairfield. Jones, Yoder, Aliyah Spencer, and Copen each drove in one run for Fairfield. Ross stole two bases.
