Cougars Dominate Oak Farm, JV Earns Split

The Central Noble girls tennis team delivered a commanding performance against Oak Farm, with the varsity squad sweeping the match 5-0 while the junior varsity battled to a competitive 2-2 tie. At the varsity level, the Cougars were in control from start to finish, picking up wins across the board in both singles and doubles play. At No. 1 singles, Kayla Kreger fought through a tight opening set, winning in a tiebreak 7-6 (7-3), before pulling away for a 6-2 second-set victory over Ivy Witmer. Whitney Weaver followed with a strong showing at No. 2 singles, cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 win against Autumn Goodyear. Abby Pliett completed the singles sweep with a decisive 6-2, 6-0 victory over Arybella Parks at the No. 3 spot. The Cougars continued their dominance in doubles action. The No. 1 doubles team of Katie Mains and Anna Scott secured a solid 6-2, 6-1 win over Leah Cook and Hannah Lautzenhiser. At No. 2 doubles, Ashley Hernandez Vega and Rheanne Sumagaysay capped off the shutout with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 victory against Madelyn Burtch and Savannah Norton. In junior varsity play, Central Noble split matches with Oak Farm, finishing in a 2-2 tie. Mack Lortie earned an 8-5 win at No. 2 singles, while the doubles duo of McKynzie Carmien and Molly Daniel dominated with an 8-2 victory. Despite tough losses at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles, the JV team showed resilience and competitiveness throughout the match. With the win, the Cougars continue to build momentum early in the season, showcasing depth, consistency, and strong performances across the lineup.
